NVWE Notes: Creamy, minerally, stylish and packed with vibrant, focused fruit, this is a truly delectable Chardonnay. The nose fans-out as a elegant melange of fresh apple, white peach, lemon curd, white rose and white pepper over a background of sweet-savory spice and flinty earthiness. On the palate it is at once plush, creamy, zesty and delightfully supple, with notes of dried peach, dried mango, apple skin, vanilla wafer and a hint of hazelnut nougat subtly added to the aromatic mix. It is ultra-long and never less than satisfying, yet it will surely improve over the next three years at the least. 160 cases produced.
NVWE Notes: Focused, richly fruity, full of savory and floral spice, and as impressive for it’s elegant harmony as for it’s generosity, this is a beautiful wine. The nose opens as a perfume of sweet red cherry, sour dark cherry, blueberry, violet, mace, cedar, star anise, clove and peppercorn scents. It proves as richly flavored, supple and elegant as expected on the palate, where polished tannins never intrude on the flavors: a focused mirror of the aromas. The finish is sleek and lingering and perfectly food-balanced, and the wine ends with a big push of sour sherry, red currant, raspberry and fig. If delicious now, it should be more so in a year or two. 48 6-packs produced.
