NVWE Notes: This immediately appealing Chardonnay is a blend of seven prestigious Sta. Rita Hills vineyards. The nose offers forthcoming, elegant, youthfully zesty aromas of sweet green apple, peaches and cream, lemon curd, pineapple core, orange blossom, white rose, brioche, baking spices, vanilla and a hint of white pepper. Gently tongue-coating fruit dominates on the palate, where quietly zesty flavors of fresh red apple, white peach tart, bees wax, white rose, hazelnut nougat and Mandarin orange achieve a delightful harmony. The finish is stylish, lingering and grows ever more fruity with airing. Delicious now, it should be captivating if allowed eighteen to twenty-four months in the cellar. 1200 cases made. Vineyard composition: 26% Bentrock, 20% Rita’s Crown, 18% Clos Pepe, 12% Kessler-Haak, 10% La Rinconada, 8% Zotovich & 6% Hilliard Bruce.

NVWE Notes: Vivid, fresh and forthcoming, the nose of this gorgeous Chardonnay pinpoints notes of green apple, fresh lime, pineapple core, lemon blossom, peach pit, vanilla wafer and hints of coconut cream and “river stone” minerality to produce a perfume that is both rich and elegant. The impression of chiseled focus is as evident on the palate, where feminine raciness tempers the intense fruit to streamline the mouth-feel. This is a vineyard famous for it’s rush of almost “weighty” tropical fruit, yet the finish of this wine rolls-out as a supple, gently piquant caress of sweet green apple, pear skin, lime, lemon, pineapple soufflé, vanilla wafer and baking-spice, above a background of nut husk and marzipan braced by low-key mineral undercurrents. Captivating now, if may be more so in a year or two. 70 cases made.


NVWE Notes: This luxuriously aromatic bottling seems drenched in fruit and spice, as a creamy perfume of sweet dried peach, pineapple soufflé, passion fruit, kumquat, green melon, key lime pie, lemon curd, lemon grass and white pepper surges from the glass. All that plush fruit is rendered in a more youthfully-coiled presentation on the palate, but its energy is just as impressive, as its dinner-worthiness is made obvious. If destined to improve for a year at minimum, it becomes lip-smacking delicious now, as soon as airing brings-forth its piquant rush of passion fruit, guava, papaya, peach, lime curd, white pepper, lemon grass, coriander seed, celery seed, white rose, vanilla and mineral flavors. 200 cases produced.
