CONNOISSEUR'S GUIDE REVIEW: 92 POINTS 58% Roussanne; 42% Grenache Blanc. Very rich, billowy aromas tinged with notes of honey and dried peach, lightly scented with a suggestion of anise and filled out by creamy oak set this full-bodied wine off on the right track, and its mouthfilling, viscous palatal impressions and its great depth of exotic fruit flavors add their own charms to this delightful and inviting offering. Its great aromasticity makes it a candidate to accompany rich and savory hors d'oeuvres, yet its weight and depth would make it a willing mate to main courses. NVWE NOTES: This is an exotic and distinctive dinner wine that combines fruit scents of citron, honeysuckle, green plums and hints of wild strawberry and white pepper with intense mineral undercurrents that are clearly reminiscent of Grand Cru Chablis. The mineral notes are even more starkly defined on the palate, yet they integrate beautifully into the wine’s rich flavors of stone fruit, citron, honeycomb and red berry. The finish is very long and the wine is built for classic sauced seafood entrees. A blend of 58% Roussanne and 42% Grenache, from the Glenrose vineyard. 645 cases produced. WINEMAKER NOTES: Clarity of fruit and brisk assertive acidity are the hallmarks of this wine. Possessing an attractive bouquet reminiscent of a cross between grapefruit, lime, pear and ethereal hints of dandelion honey, it delivers a clean, refreshing mineral tinged finish.
