Aiena Pinot Noir Monterey 2008 NVWE NOTES: This is a rich and satisfying Pinot at a great price. The aromas are both forthcoming and expansive, with lots of ripe Bing cherry which easily dominates equally appealing undercurrents of forest floor spice, roasted grain and a suggestion of smoked beef. The wine is also forthcoming on the palate and grows more generous, if a little bit broader, as it airs: fanning-out flavors of Bing cherry, strawberry preserves, red rose, vanilla and hints of foresty spice and sweet tobacco. Both long and satisfying, the finish is fully dry, which brings the wine nicely into balance for prime dinner match-ability. This is a wine one could drink a lot of. 630 cases produced.
