Notes on the Ampelos Winery Viognier Santa Barbara County 2007 : NVWE NOTES: This Viognier is bright, focused and wonderfully genteel in both its aromas and flavor. The nose offers scents of lemon blossoms, white peaches and honeysuckle in a forthcoming and focused package, while the texture shows wonderful delicacy. Its lingering finish of lemon, peach, lychee and lime is as finely polished. A wonderfully gulpable wine, it would be even more impressive with food. Perhaps sole in buerre blanc, or a slightly more elegant Thai curry.
