Drink now through 2016. 195 cases made. - JL (Apr 30, 2010) PINOT REPORT REVIEW: 95 POINTS Medium-deep ruby color; deep, complex, red cherry, cinnamon and baking spice aromas; rich, ripe, deep, red cherry flavors with lots of cinnamon and baking spice notes; silky, lush texture; sweet oak; great balance and structure, long finish. Lush, silky Pinot that tastes plain delicious. Drink it by itself or pair it with roasted turkey, pork or chicken. Can't go wrong with this Pinot. RELEASE DATE: 12/28/09 ISSUE NO. 61 195 cases made NVWE NOTES: Perhaps even more successful than last years Bella Una, the ‘07 is a graceful but fruit-packed Pinot with aromas that are a lovely melange of sweet Boysenberry, red rose petal, dried orange peel and roasted grain. The flavors are bright and focused, if still a step behind the nose in development. That sweet boysenberry fruit carries through a lingering finish and, with airing, the berry, rose, orange and grain flavors are joined by emerging accents of sweet smoke and tobacconist-shop spice. It is just a youngster at this point, but expect this one to grow ever more handsome over the next four or five years. WINEMAKER NOTES: Our winemaker, Mike Sullivan, wanted to create a special, high-end Pinot Noir that was a blend of several vineyards that we work with. Bella Una is the result and it means “beautiful together”. This wine has rich and seductive aromas of baking spice and vine ripened blackberry. On the palate the wines juicy mouthfeel is supported by centered acidity building with fruit through the mid-palate to the fine grain tannins on the finish. An intriguing blend of power and restraint this Pinot Noir is both savory and delicately sweet. Only 181 cases of this beauty.
