CALIFORNIA GRAPEVINE REVIEW: 90 POINTS Medium to medium-dark ruby; attractive, spicy, cedary, herbal, cassis and blackberry fruit aroma with hints of vanilla, clove, bell pepper, and spearmint; full body; rich, textured, cedary, spicy, slightly peppery, black cherry and blackberry fruit flavors with a creamy mouthfeel; full tannin; still a bit rough on the finish; lingering aftertaste. WINEMAKER NOTES: The 2004 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied wine with a very smooth entry, excellent balance between oak and fruit, spicy tannins, and a lingering finish. The aroma is dominated by layers of blueberry, fig, and blackberry, accented by violet, spice, and a hint of bell pepper. The flavors are ripe with cassis, raspberry jam, blackberry, toasted oak, and a touch of dried herbs on the finish.
