Notes on the Fortitude Field Blend Napa Valley Frediani Vineyard 2004 : NVWE NOTES: This textbook “field blend” is deep purple in color and both slightly jammy and slightly crisp to the nose, offering youthfully reserved scents of pomegranate syrup, tart cherries, strawberry preserves and hints of earth and smoke. Leaner and clearly Charbono-esque in its firmness of texture and slightly rustic tannins, it has flavors of blackberriy, cranberry, pomegranate and earth. The finish is long, lean, zesty and built for service with summer picnics and barbecues. Try with grilled sausages, pork ribs, pizza or red sauced spaghetti. A blend of 66% Charbono, 15% Carignane, 14% Zinfandel, 5% Petite Sirah.
