Notes on the Paraiso Vineyards Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2006 : PINOT REPORT REVIEW: 89 POINTS Medium-deep ruby color; deep, spicy, smoky stewed black cherry aromas; deep, rich, ripe stewed black cherry flavors, nice smoky notes; good structure and balance; long finish. Rich and smoky, this Pinot would be great with grilled meats. 8,990 cases made. PinotReport May 15th, 2008

NVWE NOTES: This nose of this price-worthy Pinot is surprisingly complex, with aromas of Bing Cherry and dry red rose and lots of savory spice, including hints of bouillon, white pepper, smoke and minerals. It is soft edged, but appropriately juicy on the palate, delivering the combination of peppery notes and rich fruit the aromas promised. The finish is lingering and full of appeal, as red plum, dry cherry, black tea and some dark earthy notes fan out on the palate.

WINEMAKER NOTES: Paraiso's flagship varietal. Wonderful Burgundian character: rich cherry and plum flavors with hints of spice, smoke, and toasty oak. All wrapped by structuring tannins and acidity. Amazingly food-versatile: salmon, roast chicken, beef tenderloin, you name it...
