So very rich and so very deep and so very swathed in sweet oak as to provide for some an affirmative answer, this lavish, downright opulent wine may teeter on the brink of losing control, but we confess that we are happy to follow it right to the edge. It is big; it is dramatic; and it is so wonderfully rich. And, it requires pairing with dishes like roasted game birds or salmon in flavorful sauces in order to find suitable mealtime mates. NVWE NOTES: This harmonious beauty has ripe, forthcoming aromas, with fruit scents of peach, nectarine, spiced apple and dried orange elegantly supported by pretty vanilla, roasted grain and dark mineral notes. It is even richer on the palate, but more youthfully zesty and more clearly oak-influenced, notes which combine to slightly stiffen-up the peach-apple fruit. The finish is youthfully firm as well, but it’s extremely long and already delicious. Expect it to improve for another 12-18 months.
