Notes on the Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 : NVWE NOTES: The 2004 Alex has a bright, pretty nose of textbook Alexander Valley fruit: a mix of red currant, red cherry, sweet vanilla and cinnamon, tied to rich dried herb notes. It is less evolved on the palate, with toasty oak elements in the foreground and dark berry and cherry notes just starting to fully catch up. Certainly a tasty dinner wine already, it will be considerably better in another two years. The patient will see the fruit grow sweeter, the bouquet grow more seductive and the lingering finish significantly dominate the pretty barrel tones.

WINEMAKER NOTES: The 2004 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a refined and complex wine that combines subtlety and depth. It has a dark ruby color with a deep red edge and displays aromas of fresh blackberries, violets, cola, nutmeg and licorice. In the mouth, the wine has a juicy attack and offers great expression of fruit and spice on the mid-palate. Its fruit-driven finish is long and elegant. Properly cellared, this wine should give drinking pleasure through 2023. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
