CARTER CABERNET SAUVIGNON, WEITZ VINEYARD, OAKVILLE NAPA VALLEY 2015
Deep purple-black in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard has a decadent nose of plum preserves, blueberry compote and dried mulberries with touches of Indian spices, sandalwood, lavender and cloves. Full-bodied, soft, sexy and seductive with its come-hither spicy berry preserves layers and plush tannins, it finishes on a persistent exotic spice note.
NVWE Notes: Darker in personality than in the past, the 2015 Weitz melds aromas of blueberry, black cherry, red and black currant, dark tobacco, vanilla, black tea, cedar, leather, sweet tobacco, star anise and Victorian toffee into a classy, focused perfume. Although it has impressive tannic structure, this impression is secondary to the wine’s rich push of black cherry, red currant, black currant, dried currant, black raspberry, star anise, baking-spice, graphite and vanilla flavors. Heady-rich, the finish is nevertheless balanced, focused and lingering, if still a bit youthfully reticent. Expect four to seven years of growth and great pleasure well before its full maturity. 280 6-packs produced.
