CONTINUUM PROPRIETARY RED, (PRITCHARD HILL) NAPA VALLEY 2014 375ml HALF-BOTTLE
Antonio Galloni - Vinous
A raw, intense wine, the 2014 Continuum reveals serious intensity. Next to some of the more recent vintages, the 2014 is a bit more lithe and linear in feel, but like the 2013, it shows darker tonalities of fruit and terrific energy. Mocha, black cherries, graphite and cloves add the final shades of nuance. Although it is early, the 2014 is shaping up very nicely.
NVWE Notes: This stunning, near-perfect Cab offers a precise, concentrated, yet charming perfume. The nose opens with it’s sweet blackberry, black cherry, Cassis, blueberry syrup, black fig, bitter chocolate, sweet pipe tobacco, cedar, licorice root, clove, vanilla caramel, baking-spice, star anise, black tea and graphite scents already displaying a lovely harmony. It is wonderfully elegant in the mouth, where the tannins are deep, but polished, and the flavors roll-out in an ultra-supple reprise of the aromas. The tongue-coating finish is full of fruit and spice, with blueberry and fig currently at center-stage. A spectacular dinner wine already, it should prove wonderfully feminine if allowed another five to ten years or so of cellar-time.
