LYNDENHURST (SPOTTSWOODE) CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY 2012
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Lyndenhurst is sexy, radiant and delicious, with plenty of the typical Spottswoode red and bluish stone fruit and spices. Creamy, layered and deeply expressive, the Lyndenhurst is a terrific choice for drinking over the next few years. This is pure class through and through. The Lyndenhurst is made mostly from estate fruit. Antonio Galloni
NVWE Notes: Forthcoming and already delicious, this Cabernet is also, considering it’s classy pedigree, notably fair-priced. The nose is an elegant perfume of black currant, red currant, blackberry, black cherry, licorice root, sweet tobacco, cedar and baking-spice scents. There is elegance and concentration on the palate and fine grip as well, which gives a firm, Bordeaux-like cast to the wines mouth-feel. The flavors are a lingering mirror of the aromas, with polish, focus and the stuffing to guarantee three years of further development, although its current appeal makes the wait anything but mandatory. 2000 cases produced.
