NVWE Notes: At once jammy-rich, citric-fruity, floral, sweet-savory and mineral accented, the nose of this gorgeously deep wine melds scents of red raspberry, grenadine, red boysenberry, sour cherry, black cherry, orange zest, yellow rose, mace, file’, mulling spices, black tea, white chocolate and slate into an amazingly complex yet youthful package. The wine seems even grander in scale on the palate, although zest and minerality keep things sleek and firm through a lingering, already satisfying finish. Terrific now with seared duck breast or prime rib, it should get better for three or four years and could prove fairly long-lived. A blend of best barrels from the Rosella’s & Sierra Mar Vineyards. 99 cases produced.
