ROAR PINOT NOIR SANTA LUCIA HIGHLANDS 2014
Brilliant red. Suave, highly perfumed red berry, candied rose and vanilla scents carry hints of musky herbs and allspice. Sweet, seamless and penetrating on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and floral pastille flavors and a touch of mocha that builds in the glass. Lingers with very good, spicy persistence; gentle tannins come in late to lend shape to the juicy red fruit.
Moving to the reds and a mix of all five single vineyards, the 2014 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands offers tons of charm in its savory red fruits, dried spice and underbrush aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, rounded and ready to go, drink it over the coming 3-4 years. Drink 2016 - 2020. 28th Sep 2016 Jeb Dunnuck
Combines a rich core of spice, licorice and red berry, with savory, tea-scented tannins. Appealing now but will likely be better in a year or so. Best from 2017 through 2022. 1,848 cases made. Issue Jun 15, 2016 JL
