The nose is a fruit and savory spice-packed mix of dark cherry, cherry cobbler, blueberry, black currant, black fig, date, mocha, clove, baking-spice and dried herb scents. Fruit is center-stage on the palate, where piquant cherry pit, sour cherry, Cassis, blueberry jam, vanilla, clove, baking spices and hints of dark tobacco create a juicy-zesty-creamy melange. The finish is long, supple and easily rich enough to smother the wine’s tannins, so entree matching will be a joy from the start.
