VILLA CREEK GARNACHA PASO ROBLES 2012
Wine Advocate
91 Points
The 2012 Garnacha, which was tasted from bottle, is a clean, mid-weight effort that has beautiful strawberry and blackberry fruits, mulling spices, dried flowers and hints of vanilla in its medium-bodied, supple, up-front and delicious style. Already approachable, drink it over the coming 4-5 years. WA # , #214 (Aug 2014) Drink 2014 - 2019
NVWE Notes: Deeply rich yet stylish, this is a terrific Grenache. The nose fan-out as a focused perfume of red cherry, strawberry, dried red currant, red rose, pink peppercorn, star anise and cinnamon, with hints of laurel, tobacco and minerals in the background. On the palate, it is full of vibrant fruit and spice, while its tannic grip and density make for an almost sinewy mouth-feel. The finish is yltra-long, wonderfully expressive and has chiseled focus. Although this wine promises to get better for several more years, it will prove a great companion to rich Holiday dinners this year. 100% Grenache, 400 cases produced.
