WILLIAMS SELYEM PINOT NOIR, FERRINGTON VINEYARD, ANDERSON VALLEY 2014
A bold, racy wine, the 2014 Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard hits the palate with striking depth and purity of fruit. Sweet red cherry, plum, spice and new leather all flesh out in the glass. This is an especially succulent, juicy Pinot Noir that will drink well with minimal cellaring, although readers who prefer more tertiary nuance will want to cellar it for a few years. Today, the fruit is front and center.
Notable oaky aromas like cedar and clove join bold fruit and spice flavors in this medium-bodied, stylized wine from a classic producer. This bottling seems less overtly ripe and more spicy in style than recent vintages. On the palate, it oozes clove, tamarind, cardamom and black-cherry flavors. Best after 2019.
