2025 Lucy Pico Blanco Monterey County
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 92 Points
This Pinot Gris dominated bottling has a vibrantly bright, focused and immediately attractive aroma led by scents of fresh lime and pear underscored by suggestions of white peach and lychee and notably strong "crushed rock-like" mineral notes. It is even more appealing on the palate, where the fruit is piquantly fresh, palate-coating and extremely long and the textural combination created by the mineral counterpoint is seductive from the start. Quite delicious and clearly dinner-worthy, it should only improve over the next year or two as the fruit notes grow more dominant. A blend of 70% Pinot Gris and 30% Pinot Blanc, sourced from the Santa Lucia Highlands and Arroyo Seco appellations.
