2021 may well evolve into the best ever Cabernet Sauvignon vintage produced from The Anthem Estate Vineyard, as the aromas and the flavors that mirror them are already a focused, forthcoming, vibrant expression of Mount Veeder fruit in a great year. The nose offers sour red cherry, red currant jam, sweet-pickled crab apple syrup and hibiscus agua fresca scents uplifted by a medley of dark foresty suggestions, herbal spice and cutting minerality. In the mouth, identical fruit flavors hold focus and prominence despite deep tannins, bright zest and those firming mineral undercurrents. The wine finishes with a long fruit-dominated finish that sparkles with liquor-like richness and vibrant zest. If delicious and food-worthy already, it is at minimum 3-4 years from truly showing its all. 530 cases produced.
