Vibrantly fruity and of chiseled focus, the nose of this terrific bargain Zin offers ultra forthcoming aromas of black raspberry, lingonberry, Campari liqueur, sweet red plum tart and dark cherry, these counterpointed by black peppercorn, star anise, coco nib and forest-floor scents. It is piquantly bright on the palate, where tannin, zest and peppery spice linger nicely, yet are overwhelmed by the same vibrant fruit mix that dominates the nose. Delicious and very food-worthy already, it will be just as seductive five years from now.
