Stylish and forthcoming in fruit, the nose offers scents of black currant, black raspberry, dark plum, violet, clove, cedar, baking spice and a hint of licorice root. It is sleek in texture, if quietly gripping, yet fruit and spice are every bit as dominant on the palate, where the wine is truly food-worthy and the finish proves very long. To the very end the flavors never flag and although the wine is likely to grow in dimension for another year or two, there seems no need to wait as it gives so much pleasure now.
