Packed with forthcoming fruit, this is a gorgeous Cabernet from the moment the cork is pulled. The nose is a vibrant, focused mix of cassis, cranberry sauce, red currant, red plum tart, baking spice, cedar and dark mineral scents. The fruit is already plush in the mouth, although it’s also zesty, gripping and lingering on the palate, where the same fruit expressions work to smother the wine’s harder spine of tannin and minerality. The emerging mix of red plum, cranberry, cassis, sour red cherry syrup, mocha and toasted oak spice really fans-out and never lets go of center stage. Delicious now, it may get more so for another four to six years.
