Complex, focused, and firmed by cutting zest, this is a masterfully crafted and ultra elegant bottling from a winery best known for the sheer power of it’s Pinot Noir. The nose is a chiseled medley of dark cherry, red raspberry and whortleberry, with orange relish undercurrents, hazelnut notes and firming minerality, all these in exquisite harmony. It is as weighty in body as expected, yet surprisingly stylish on the palate, as piquant freshness, minerality and flashy fruit create a racy texture that brings further precision to flavors that perfectly mirror the nose. The finish is ultra-long, streamlined and flavor-packed, giving impressions of Burgundy-like clarity and “Grand Cru” depth. Delicious and impressively food worthy now, it should only get better over for next five years and quite possibly beyond.
