This is a firm, well-structured Cabernet with lots of immediate appeal and a suggestion of grander days ahead. Aromas of blackberry, black currant and dark cherry take the lead in the nose, while notes of graphite, minerality and some rooty hints flesh out the package. The mineral notes team with zest and some polished tannin to firm-up generous fruit flavors which mirror the nose attractively yet are themselves gracefully counterpointed by others of clove, dark tobacco, graphite and rooty spice. The finish is long-lingering and the flavors expands nicely as the wine airs. Expect several years of further development, but don’t be afraid to enjoy it now, especially with grilled beef enters and the like.
